Rural Development Initiative (RDI) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) created to serve individuals and families in the poorest communities by creating sustainable income and livelihood opportunities for rural poor households that promote youth innovations and drive positive change.
Rural Development Initiative is transforming subsistence agriculture into market-oriented agriculture through training and market connections for smallholder farmers, effectively protecting them from price shocks while increasing their profits. RDI is registered and operates under law n° 04/2012 of 17/02/2012.
RDI has received funds from UNDP/RGB towards the implementation of the “Economic Empowerment of Youth and Women Cooperatives Through aquaculture Skills Development” implemented in Burera district.
