We're looking for an exceptional Project Manager (with expertise in business/enterprise development) to oversee a transformative 5-year Gender Equality and Resilience Project aimed at enabling marginalized women and girls’ socio-economic empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Project Manager, you will serve as the key player, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, leading the development, and managing an Innovation Fund dedicated to interventions supporting marginalized women, girls and youth to fully engage and live in a responsive and inclusive environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
You will lead and manage the implementation of the Gender Equality and Resilience “GEAR” Project within the CO Portfolio, in a manner that ensures deliver CARE Rwanda’s goals and objectives;
You will Oversee the implementation of impactful projects that will collectively target the underlying causes of poverty and social injustice in Rwanda
You will liaise with the Programs Director, partnership manager and sub grant team support the partner pre-selection process and coordinate the provision of Capacity Building training and support to Implementing Partners; ensuring that they are fully equipped to meet the requirements of the project plan and operate sustainably thereafter
You will ensure that GEAR project’s budgets are developed and managed according to CARE and Donor requirements;
You will actively participate in the development and implementation of CARE Rwanda’s Advocacy & Communications plan; ensuring that key program stakeholders are influenced effectively
You will Contribute to the development and implementation of CARE Rwanda’s strategy; aiming to maximize our beneficial impact on vulnerable women and girls;
You will Collaborate with the Knowledge Management & Learning/Impact Measurement Team to continuously develop broad and deep understanding of the root causes of vulnerability and enhance the efficacy of CARE’s interventions

Position requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g. Project management, Business management, Enterprise development, Development studies or Social Science)
• Master’s degree in project management or Qualified Project Management certification (added advantage)
• 6-10 years in project management role in the development sector, prior experience in related areas/sector (business development, enterprise development, gender equality) programming preferred.
• At least three years' experience managing complex projects and multi-million-dollar funds and projects with foundations and/or institutional donors e.g European Union, USAID, Austrian Development Agency.
• Excellent understanding of economic development and poverty analysis
• Demonstrated experience in risk management for safer programming and ensuring value for money
• Demonstrated experience in program design, implementation and evaluation; including participatory approaches for gender transformative projects
• Demonstrated experience in advocacy and influencing at different levels
• Experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with implementing partners, donors and government counterparts.
• Experience managing emergencies is an added advantage
• Strong human resource management skills including capacity building, coaching and conflict management; ability to provide feedback and motivate/lead a diverse team to achieve results.
• Experience building capacity and working collaboratively with local implementing partners;
• Demonstrated ability in managing different types of partnerships, including grantees and fund managers.
