JOB DETAILS:
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls who are most affected.
Working together with children, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood and we enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.
For over 85 years, we have rallied other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries.
We won’t stop until we are all equal.
ABOUT Plan International
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian not for profit organization that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination and its girls who are most affected.
Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 75 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.
This ambition involves mobilizing partners and decision-makers around this cause. Our ambition is to work in a sustainable way at the local level, with local civil society organizations and district authorities, to prevent and eliminate gender-based discrimination and economic exclusion of girls, and ultimately leading to girls being free from all forms of violence, and leaders in their communities.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Plan International Rwanda is firmly committed to strengthening partnership working to continue advancing the rights of children, young people and especially girls. This position will play a key role in supporting country-level activities and providing technical support and advice to Plan International Rwanda staff as well as to the organization's teams and partners. The incumbent will help align, strengthen and evolve Plan International Rwanda's partnerships towards the principles of Building Better Partnership and Pathways to partnership with youth-led organizations.
The incumbent will be responsible for building and managing partnership relationships, engaging with partners in strategic planning, overseeing risk management processes and ensuring partnership relationships are conducted in a mutually respectful and equitable manner.
Reporting to the Head of Programs, the incumbent will ensure coherent collaboration with both strategic and operational partners, and lead the implementation and integration of Plan International Rwanda's strategic partnership. This includes adapting strategic program approaches such as NGO and partner mapping, promoting collaborative partnership management, as well as supporting partners’ needs through diverse means, including trainings, and support for partner organizations in project implementation. This will ensure that programs meet an acceptable level of standards and demonstrate their effectiveness.

Role dimensions
The position holder will be responsible to coordinate all partnership day-to-day tasks, by mainly supporting the programme teams and maintaining good and sustainable relationship with partners.
The position will develop Plan International's approach to working with partners, adults and youth in a developmental as well as humanitarian context.
The role is the main point of contact for partner organizations for strategic and institutional engagement and will ensure that Plan International Rwanda follows high standards of partnership management, guiding Plan International Rwanda staff and partners through all stages of the effective partnership process, and ensuring that partnership needs are adequately integrated into planning, budgeting and other resources.
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring cross team collaboration and develops equitable partner relationships, to enable effective partnership working.
