WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • GET IT Drivers maintain the highest level of personal health and hygiene standards, complete the sign in sheet, and announce yourself to the Fulfillment Manager
  • Maintain required personal hygiene standards; included but not limited to wear official Get It Uniform, are clean shaven daily, and washing hands as per company direction
  • Assist in the preparation of the loading area at the start of a shift; including but not limited to cleaning the space and clearing clutter, maintain the vehicle to a high standard of cleanliness including washing and sterilizing the produce holding areas before every journey and cleaning the exterior and non-food handling at the beginning of each shift
  • Drive in a careful manner within Rwandan Law to minimize accidental damage to the vehicle and produce stored within it
  • Ensure the vehicle is only ever used for Get It work purposes and not used for personal reasons by staff
  • Make On-Time Deliveries to Get It customers, make deliveries and collections from various markets and farms, collect payments from customers, and administer paperwork relative to customer finances, maintain accurate records, lift produce boxes up to 30 kg
  • Drive produce from warehouse to customer within required time window and without damaging products
  • Make sure the vehicle is fueled, clean and inspected before departing from warehouse. All problems are immediately reported to Manager
  • Go through GET IT Driver’s Checklist, understand work to ISO / HACCP standards required and defined by the company, read a map, follow and give accurate driving directions
  • Must review orders for accuracy prior to delivery, make sure the items are all there and correctly staged for delivery
  • Follow accurately delivery sheet instructions for time and place of delivery
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods to predetermined customers on specific routes
  • Unload truck and providing exceptional customer service to our customer
  • Review deliveries with customers to ensure products are all there and meet product specifications
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Orders department
  • Report to the management any customer complaint
  • Obtain delivery confirmation from each customer
  • Make sure payments are collected when required, immediately raise maintenance issues to the Lead Receiving and Fulfillment Manager
  • Have direct accountability for any company equipment entrusted to you; including but not limited to crates and egg crates
  • Follow schedules and direction set by the Fulfillment Manager
  • Accurately record company required driver logs and customer forms as directed by Get It,
  • Work in a diligent way considerate of yours and other team members safety, after client deliveries towards the end of the shift noting if the vehicle requires refueling and completing before the next shift arrives; at the end of a shift be able to park and secure the vehicle in an appropriate location on Get It premises,
  • Complete the sign out sheet when leaving at the end of a shift and announcing your departure to the Fulfilment Manager,
  • Protect all GET IT property including phones and other materials,
  • Be a representative of the GET IT and perform other general driver duties as needed.


WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Required qualifications, competencies and experience
Qualifications

  • Secondary school education
  • Holds a valid driver’s license

Professional experience

  • At least 1-3 years’ professional experience as a driver with references
  • No major accidents in the past 3 years

Other knowledge, additional competencies

  • Excellent written and spoken English and Kinyarwanda skills
  • Excellent driving skills
  • Be able to wear clean GET IT uniform while on duty
  • Maintain a positive can-do attitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Great time management skills
  • Flexible thinking
  • Ability to easily absorb new information and put it right to good use
