KIGALI CHRISTIAN SCHOOL (ECOLE CHRETIENNE DE KIGALI) is a private Christian School owned and operated by YOUTH FOR CHRIST/RWANDA which is a missionary movement entrusted with a global vision and committed to a mission of youth evangelism, discipleship, social involvement, and leadership development.
In its Strategies, Youth for Christ/Rwanda reaches the youth through Education and thus started and owns KIGALI CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, KIGALI, and RWAMAGANA CAMPUSES.
It is against this background that Youth for Christ/Rwanda wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following positions:
BIG BROTHER (1 position)
Location: KIGALI CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, KIGALI CAMPUS
Nature of Contract: INDEFINITE
Job Title: One Big Brother -Full Time, 1 Position
Job summary: To insure that the residential life program for boarding students is well organized and that students are well cared for in their home away from home. The environment should be highly structured and highly relational in nature to provide an environment in which students flourish spiritually, academically, physically and emotionally.
Supervisor(s): Secondary Director, the Main Campus Director

Faith – Follower of Jesus Christ and actively involved in a local church.
Behaviour – Self-Disciplined and teachable. Personal integrity in both professional and private life. .

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A BIG BROTHER
• To model spiritual and servant leadership to staff and students;
• To promote the gospel of grace through Our Lord Jesus Christ;
• To lead the residential program by promoting the mission of YFC/Rwanda and Kigali Christian School;
• To participate in planning and evaluation for residential program;
• To develop organize, implement, and monitor the before/after school program for Kigali Christian School boarding students;
• To disciple and mentor students;
• To effectively communicate regularly with parents;
• To effectively communicate and report regularly with the Students Affairs & Administration Dean, Secondary Director, School Officials and Teachers;
• To implement the Residential Life Program policy and Procedures;
• To meet regularly with Secondary Director;
• To promote a structured family environment that promotes the spiritual, physical, academic and emotional development of residential students;
• To maintain discipline for the safety and development of residential students;
• To assist students in their academic progress at Kigali Christian School;
• To reside with boarding students in dorms to ensure a proper oversight;
• To regularly evaluate and suggest adaption to program that offer the best services that our resources allow.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
• Passion to serve and work hard,
• University Degree in Education, Psychology, Clinical Psychology and Management;
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel;
• Fluent in English;
• Able to communicate with French and Kinyarwanda;
• How to motivate and mentor others;
• Prior experience of two years in related service is an added advantage;
• Knowledge of Rwanda’s education system and requirements.
