FVA is a Christian Faith Based and Non-governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to providing orphans, women, and minors a safe haven, training, schooling, and opportunities since 2003. Our mission is to facilitate processes that break the cycle of poverty, reduce HIV infections, combat domestic violence and help communities build programs to distribute resources to Rwandese. This will enable them to create a prosperous society of peace, reconciliation, care, and well being for all persons.FVA takes a multi-tier approach to poverty alleviation by working in a systematic way to maximize our impact, cut operation costs, put into place procedures and protocol as we grow and expand to meet the needs of those we are assisting. .

Job Qualifications
• University degree or equivalent in Nutrition with at least 2 years of working experience in a similar field.
• Experience in delivering messages to reduce direct and indirect routes of diseases resulting from malnutrition;
• Ability to Plan and implement Nutrition related activities in Kayonza district;
• Experience in promoting nutrition activities at the village level in partnership with local leaders and community-based volunteers;
• Able to mobilize local communities to accelerate progress towards the national goal of eliminating malnutrition in Kayonza district;
• Ability to Build positive relations with local leaders at a sector, cell, and village levels and within the team implementing Gikuriro program in Kayonza district;
• Capable of Planning, data collection, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting;
• Ability to provide full Support to Gikuriro program in promoting good nutrition and development for scale up in respective communities;
• Able to take a lead in educating the communities on how best they can have good nutrition in their families for good health.
• Capacity to network with government institutions and other development partners within the Kayonza District in planning and implementation of the program focusing on nutrition and food security.
• Able to keep an updated M&E Database; analyze the data to inform decision making to improve program performance.
• Ability to record best practices related to Nutrition and write significant stories to share with partners
• Experience in behavior change communication strategies to strengthen messages on key hygiene behaviors that directly impact infant health.
• Knowledge on Community-based Food security and nutrition program (CBF&NP) and its implementation at the grassroots level;
• Excellent communication skills with a good command in English and Kinyarwanda, knowledge of French is an added advantage;
• Proficient in Microsoft office, word, excel and PowerPoint;
• Experience of working with USAID funded programs is an added advantage
• Capable to work under pressure;
• Good facilitation, negotiation, networking and advocacy skills
• Good project management skills, including participatory budgeting and monitoring;
• Good knowledge monitoring and evaluation knowledge
• Good interpersonal skills and high team working spirit
• Possesses driving license Category A is required.
