Job description
We are looking for an active professional to join our team of local representatives in Rwanda. Local representatives are the local contacts of Exchange in Africa and represent the organization in the focus countries. They promote Exchange in the local business community and follow-up on the ongoing growth programmes.
Duties and responsibilities
Local representatives (LRs) are accountable to the Country Programme manager (PM) and responsible for liaising between the North Team in Belgium (Europe) and the South team in the country in which they operate. LRs follow up the ongoing growth programmes on a monthly base, creating the best conditions for them to thrive. They accompany Exchange members and our partners during their missions, taking care of the organizational aspects and supporting their activity, for approximately 15 days a year. LRs constantly look for occasions to develop their network and use it to create new cooperation opportunities, screening, auditing and selecting the most suitable partners. They are proactively gathering information on business environment, opportunities and struggles in the country, supporting the Programme Manager in drafting the Country Strategy Paper and updating him/her on important events in the country. On occasional bases, they are requested to complete contextual tasks. LRs are expected to work on average 10 days per month for Exchange, but the engagement may vary according to periodical needs.
We offer
The local representative receives an attractive fixed compensation per month. Our LRs are expected to cooperate with Exchange while having an employment contract with other companies/organizations, meaning this position can be perfectly combined with another job, given its part-time nature. LRs receive corporative business cards, e-mail address and promo material. His/her name appears also on the official website of Exchange as a contact person in their country. The role of a local representative can also be used as a platform to build experience and contacts in different businesses/sectors of activity and to extend your own network. The local representative can work from home.
