Position Overview:
• As a Graduate Trainee in the Risk and Insurance field in Rwanda, you will undergo comprehensive training to develop a strong foundation in risk management and insurance practices. You will work closely with experienced professionals to learn about assessing, mitigating, and managing various types of risks faced by individuals and organizations. This role will provide you with valuable insights into the insurance industry and its crucial role in safeguarding against potential financial losses.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Training Program Participation:
o Participate actively in the structured training program designed to provide exposure to risk assessment, insurance products, underwriting, claims handling, and regulatory compliance.
2. Risk Analysis:
o Learn to identify and analyze potential risks faced by individuals and businesses across different sectors.
o Assist in conducting risk assessments and developing risk management strategies.
3. Insurance Products Understanding:
o Gain knowledge about various insurance products, including property insurance, liability insurance, life insurance, and more.
o Understand the coverage, terms, and conditions of different insurance policies.
4. Underwriting Support:
o Assist senior underwriters in evaluating insurance applications, assessing risks, and determining appropriate premium rates.
o Learn about the underwriting process and factors influencing policy approval.
5. Claims Handling:
o Learn the basics of claims processing, including documentation, verification, and communication with policyholders.
o Collaborate with claims teams to understand the resolution of claims and the principles of fair claims settlement.
6. Client Communication:
o Develop effective communication skills to interact with clients, policyholders, and internal teams.
o Assist in responding to client inquiries and providing basic information about insurance policies.
7. Regulatory Compliance:
o Familiarize yourself with the regulatory framework governing the insurance industry in Rwanda.
o Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements in all insurance-related activities.
8. Learning and Development:
o Attend workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance your knowledge of risk management, insurance, and related topics.
o Continuously update your skills and industry knowledge to stay current with emerging trends.
9. Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate records of training activities, projects, and assignments.
o Assist in preparing reports and presentations on various risk and insurance topics.
10. Collaboration:
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, claims, sales, and legal, to gain a holistic understanding of the insurance business.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Strong interest in risk management and the insurance industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Quick learner with a proactive attitude toward learning and development.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ethical and professional conduct in all interactions.
