This position is for the role of General Manager to lead the sauce and condiment producer, Yongo Ltd. We are a registered enterprise in Rwanda, establishing the brand Yongo with aspiration of being in most pantries and on dining tables throughout Africa and the world.
The goal of the company is to utilise the existing production in the country to make sauces and condiments of the highest quality, to support the tastes familiar to Rwandans, and Africans in general, and provide new experiences and a feeling of an everyday luxury.
These attributes will make Yongo products become a continent-wide stable on the tables, shelves, and in the kitchens of households, supermarkets, and restaurants.
As the General Manager, you will be responsible for managing and executing all aspects of our operations, including finance control, production oversight, procurement, human resources (HR), and marketing management. You will play a crucial role in driving the growth and success of our business while ensuring efficient and effective operations across all departments.

General Manager Key Responsibilities:
Finance Management:
• Develop and manage the company's financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Oversee financial operations, such as cash flow management, accounts payable and receivable, and tax compliance.
• Monitor financial performance indicators and implement strategies to optimise profitability and control costs.
• Take ownership and continue development of the financial model that we have internally developed. The model outlines the income statement, cashflow and balance sheet of the company.
• Populate and keep up to date financial information.
• Provide weekly and monthly reports on financial status.
• Take meeting minutes/notes of financial meetings, recording actions and following up as required.
Production management:
• Lead the production team, ensuring efficient and high-quality manufacturing processes for our sauce and condiment products.
• Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and quality control measures to meet customer demand while maintaining product standards.
• Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and increase overall operational efficiency.
• Ensure continued compliance with existing certifications and keep up to date with new regulations regarding food production.
Procurement:
• Manage the procurement function, including sourcing ingredients, packaging materials, and other necessary resources.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the availability of high-quality materials at competitive prices.
• Optimise procurement processes to minimise lead times, manage inventory levels, and mitigate supply chain risks.
Human Resources (HR):
• Oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, training, performance management, and employee relations. This will be done in collaboration with CEO.
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to foster a positive work environment and ensure compliance with employment laws.
• Nurture a culture of employee engagement, professional development, and teamwork to attract and retain top talent.
Marketing Management:
• Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to promote our products.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, preferences, and market trends.
• Manage marketing campaigns, brand positioning, pricing strategies, and distribution channels to drive sales growth and enhance brand awareness.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Driven self-starter who quickly takes initiative and offers a multitude of avenue for solutions.
• Proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar leadership role within the food manufacturing industry, specifically in the sauce and condiment sector.
• Strong financial acumen and experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
• Extensive knowledge of production processes, quality control standards, and supply chain management.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
