Job Description
• Leadership of the Technology Monitoring and Knowledge Management of Unit, overseeing, reviewing team members' assignments.
• Provide leadership and assistance to team members; provide technical direction and work related advice.
• Oversee, review and direct the actions of the team members' assignments, to ensure that staff meet their goals and deliverable deadlines.
• Encourage communication and facilitate inter individual cooperation and shared work
• Set goals and objectives for the division’s success.
• Provide oversight and technical assistance on Value Chain analysis assignments.
• Oversee value chain assessments that use a range of research techniques and consultation processes to engage key private sector actors;
• Produce a technical report on each value chain, with clear proposals for possible NIRDA intervention;
• Regularly monitor changes in the selected value chains;
• Advise Director General and Senior Management on knowledge of value chains that the institution pursues to develop
• Oversee NIRDA's Knowledge Management and Knowledge Sharing mandates ensuring regular distribution publications to relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to the NIRDA senior management team decision making processes.
Job Profile
Master’s degree in Information Technology Management, Information Systems, documentation Studies, Systems analysis, System Management or Library Science with one year of relevant working experience or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology Management , Information Systems,documentation Studies,Systems analysis, System Management or Library Science with 3 years of relevant working experience.
Key technical skills and knowledge required:
• Strong command of English
• Extensive understanding of the national, regional and international contexts of industrial research and development agenda
• Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering, group facilitation, interviewing, consulting, and influencing
• Advanced leadership skills, including coaching, team building, problem solving, conflict resolution, consensus building
• Ability to provide innovative technical solutions, strategies and options to complex and critical technical issues affecting multiple disciplines and work groups
• Experience in dealing with a diversity of stakeholders both in public sector and/or private sector
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills
• Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
