JOB DETAILS:
Position Overview:
• As the Digital Team Lead for the MSH HSS Next project under Health Information Systems Program (HISP) Rwanda, you will play a critical role in driving the successful planning, development, and implementation of digital solutions that contribute to improving healthcare information systems. You will lead a team of skilled professionals, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Management:
• Develop a comprehensive project plan outlining scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and potential risks and Responsible for overseeing all activities within a team.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential deviations from the plan. Implement corrective actions as needed.
• Foster effective communication channels within the team and with internal stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved.
2. Team Leadership:
• Lead and motivate a team of digital professionals, including developers, designers, and analysts to accomplish defined deliverables on time.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities, providing guidance and support to team members throughout the project lifecycle.
• Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Responsible for deciding how to approach tasks and lead the required planning efforts to accomplish them.
3. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
• Work alongside the digital team at MoH as well as all HSS Next technical leads at MSH to achieve the project goals and visions.
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, including software development, data analysis, and project management, to design and develop digital solutions.
• Engage with external partners, vendors, and relevant government entities to align project goals and ensure successful implementation.
4. Solution Design and Development:
• Work closely with technical teams to design and develop innovative digital solutions aligned with project objectives.
• Ensure that digital solutions adhere to industry best practices, security standards, and compliance requirements.
5. Quality Assurance and Testing:
• Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to validate the functionality, performance, and security of developed solutions.
• Oversee testing efforts and collaborate with testing teams to identify and resolve issues promptly.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
• Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including technical specifications, design documents, and progress reports.
• Provide regular updates to project stakeholders, reporting on achievements, challenges, and next steps.
7. Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks and challenges in project execution and proactively develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure that the project team is prepared to handle unforeseen issues and challenges effectively
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in leading digital projects, preferably in the healthcare or public health domain.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with health information systems and electronic health records is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing project requirements.
• Experience working with international organizations or development projects is advantageous.
• Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda; knowledge of French is a plus.
