JOB DETAILS:
TUBITEHO is a Non-Governmental Organization legally recognized by Rwandan law No34 / RGB / NGO / 08.11 / 11. It wishes to become a national benchmark in terms of services and socio-economic inclusion for children and young people with intellectual disabilities. To do this, it intends to devote itself both to the quality of the improvement of its specialized and inclusive educational, medical, professional and socio-economic care services for people with intellectual disabilities to become a center of excellence in the city of Kigali and the strengthening of its own organizational and technical capacities in terms of human, material and financial resources.
Created in 2003 TUBITEHO ONG set up a Day Center in 2005 whose mission is to promote the empowerment and the socio-economic integration of the mentally handicapped in the Rwandan community by educational, medical, professional and socio-economic integration, and mainstreaming of disability.
This is why she wants to recruit a pedagogical manager (Deputy of studies) of the TUBITEHO Day Center whose mission and functions are as follows:
Mission:
Ensure the coordination of the quality of socio-educational and pedagogical supervision within the Tubiteho Day Center with the possibility of entrusting it with other responsibilities related to the mission of the day center and of the NGO TUBITEHO.
Under the direct hierarchical responsibility of the director of the Tubiteho day center .
Main tasks
Coordination and supervision of educational activities (50% of the time)
• Establish the distribution and planning of lessons proposed by special educators / teachers
• Establish a timetable for each class or group
• Supervise and comment on lesson preparations and plans and or other educational sessions
• Attend the lessons of each specialized educator and produce feedback aimed at improving the quality of the educational service offer to be shared with the director.
• Suggest to the director of the Tubiteho day center guidelines, strategies and recommendations to improve the smooth running of the day center's socio-educational activities.
• Ensure the follow-up of the implementation of the school program and consistency with the national curriculum for children with intellectual disabilities
• Conduct and lead regular educational meetings for socio-educational and teaching staff
• Establish, analyze and approve the list of needs for educational materials and consumables for activities with beneficiaries.
• Propose an annual activity budget to the director
Development of active partnership with schools and other service providers (30% of the time)
• Initiate links and contacts with other centers, inclusive schools and various service providers to develop collaborations and referrals for children and people with intellectual disabilities.
• Participating in meetings with other schools and specialized centers
Team management (10% of the time)
• As direct line manager, the educational manager,
• Propose updates to position profiles
• Participate in the recruitment process for educational staff at the day center.
• Contribute to the evaluation of the performance of each educator on the basis of his individual action plan
• Assess the skills development needs of day center educators
• Animate training sessions of the center team on methods, procedures, technical aspects useful for educational activities
Planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting (10% of the time)
• Elaborate a monthly, quarterly and annual activity plan for its service
• Monitor activities as defined in the activity plan
• Establish monthly, quarterly and annual activity reports of its service
Skills:
• Very good ability to analyze the individual needs of beneficiaries

• Very good skills in facilitating teacher coaching sessions.
• Knowledge of leading beneficiary groups.

Profile required
Diploma (s)
• A0 level diploma in special and inclusive education (Special Needs Education)
• Disability and inclusion training
• Training using the “Competence based curriculum” approach
• Curriculum training for children with intellectual disabilities
• Proven experience in the use of individualized approaches for the education of children with disabilities.
• Proven experience in special and inclusive education.
• Good experience in supporting children and students with intellectual and / or mental disabilities
• Good experience working in a specialized center for children with intellectual and / or mental disabilities.
• Knowledge of the directives of the Minister of Education and the Rwanda Education Board
• Good knowledge of no communicable and disabling diseases.
• Good knowledge in mental health
• Good knowledge of functional rehabilitation.
• Knowledge of the disability inclusion sector.
