Position Description
The Finance Manager (FM) will ensure TWB’s Rwanda corporate office finances are managed efficiently and effectively.


The FM will report directly to the Deputy Director of Operations (DDO) and TWB HQ (Headquarters), as well as liaise with TWB’s local accounting firm, Acacia Accounting. We are looking for qualified candidates who have extensive financial management experience.


Expectations
The FM can expect to live and work in Kigali yet may be asked to travel to remote training/bakery business sites per project needs. Sites may be several hours from the TWB office in Kigali. The FM should expect to work part-time 20 hours a week*, operating 5 days a week. Local modes of transport may at times be required.


*TWB is open to negotiating a full-time 40 hour per week position.


Roles & Responsibilities
The main roles for the FM position include, but are not limited to:


Financial Systems Management (50%)

  • Overall management of TWB Rwanda corporate finances, financial systems, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee all TWB expenses and bakery branch/franchise revenue for TWB Rwanda corporate office.
  • Manage all financial reporting systems for TWB bakery branches and franchises.
  • Collaborate with the DDO to integrate improved internal and external financial systems.
  • Execute and manage all payroll for TWB Rwanda corporate office and Kigali bakery staff.
  • Manage all Rwanda corporate expenses by transfer, check, and cash.
  • Monitor and manage all bank accounts associated with TWB HQ and individual bakeries.
  • Document, organize, and manage all financial records.
  • Liaise with TWB HQ to ensure fiscal health of TWB Rwanda corporate office.

TWB Bakery Branches and Franchise(s) Financial Management (30%)

  • Oversight of Kigali, Gicumbi, and Kagina bakery finances while providing extensive training opportunities for Program Managers.
  • Develop payroll system for Kigali, Gicumbi and Kagina bakeries that will be implemented by Program Managers.
  • Improve paper based and digital accounting systems for Kigali, Gicumbi, and Kagina bakeries.
  • Liaise with Program Managers and Bakery Operations Managers to ensure systems and data analysis are in place for bakery financial success, in line with each bakery’s fiscal goals.
  • Oversight of TWB franchise fiscal assessments.

Financial Reporting (20%)

  • Liaise with local accounting firm, Acacia Accounting, to ensure:
  • Petty cash distribution and reconciliation.
  • Expense tracking.
  • Revenue tracking.
  • Value Added Tax report generation.
  • Preparing, approving, and paying all Rwanda taxes including Value Added, Corporate Income, Withholding Tax, PAYE, RSSB, and Maternity, etc.
  • Monthly reconciliation.
  • Bank account reconciliation.
  • Prepare and submit TWB Rwanda corporate quarterly financial reports to TWB HQ

Required Qualifications

  • B.A./B.S.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum 1-3 years living and working in East Africa.
  • Previous experience working on issues of women’s empowerment, business development/management, social enterprise, business, community development, or health programs.
  • Proven track record in financial management or roles with similar responsibility.
  • Excellent excel skills and experience in financial tracking, reporting, etc.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, especially in team-management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s in Business, Finance, Accounting, or relevant field.
