JOB DETAILS:
College Counselor
Over the last 10 years, Bridge2Rwanda has become an expert at bursting the bottlenecks that prevent Rwanda’s brightest students from competing and winning university scholarships. B2R has built relationships with almost 100 universities in the US, Canada, Europe, Asia, The Middle East, and on the continent of Africa. Almost 300 Scholars have been accepted and earned full scholarships, and 20 of the 24 Scholars in our current class, Group 10, have already received scholarships to begin the 2021/2022 school year. The College Counseling staff works directly with the Scholars, universities, and partners to build awareness, advise on schools and areas of study, and support the application process. B2R desires to increase its staff by adding another College Counselor to work within our current team of Teachers and Lead College Counselor.
Additionally, we hope to increase our impact by expanding our programming this year. Our experience identifying and preparing Rwanda’s most promising students has given us a deep understanding of the skills gap that continues to limit students’ competitiveness in pursuing higher education, such as English proficiency, critical thinking skills, standardized test preparation and navigating the university admissions process. To address these issues and broaden our impact, Bridge2Rwanda is launching Isomo Academy — an intensive English training and college preparatory program designed to equip Rwanda’s top high school students with the skills they need to compete and win university scholarships inside and outside Rwanda.
