JOB OPPORTUNITY FOR CHILD PROTECTION OFFICER
BACKGROUND
The Coalition “Umwana ku Isonga (CUI) is a Non-Governmental Organization registered under no 219/RGB/NGO/LP/04/2018. CUI has been created with the purposes of networking and alliance building with a mandate to assess and report on the implementation of the United Nations Child Rights Convention (CRC) and the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACRWC) on one hand, and to coordinate all activities carried out by individual member organizations within the parameters of advocacy, implementing and reporting on mentioned treaty bodies on the other hand. Currently, CUI is composed by 19 organization members. CUI strives to get all the children, male and female, living in full enjoyment of their rights and fulfill all their duties without hindrance, and exempted from any form of discrimination.
CUI under Save the Children International with Sida funds support to the project ''Strengthening accountable governance that protects and delivers children's rights'' which aims to create a society where children enjoy their right through an accountable government. Strengthening the capacity of civil society actors and children to hold the Government to account for children's rights. It is for this project that CUI lance this recruitment’s opportunity.
POSITION: Child Protection Coordinator/Officer
LOCATION: Kigali with a possibility of Travelling to field
CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed term with possibility of renew
Report to: National Coalition Coordinator

DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure that all planned activities are implemented on time, to quality measures and in consideration of CUI and donors' compliances and policies.
• Monitor and review the child protection policy and procedures to ensure they remain updated and fit for purpose.
• Provides technical assistance to Coalition staffs in the design, preparation and monitoring of the adequate implementation and evaluation of actions related to strategies devoted to respond to the children protection.
• Assists in the development and/or introduction of new approaches, methods, and practices in project management and evaluation.
• Monitor program progress against both programmatic and budgetary targets, contribute to making adjustments to program design as necessary
• Prepare timely and high-quality program and donor reports on project activities in compliance with internal Coalition Umwana ku Isonga requirements and any relevant external donor requirements.
• Work with Coalition Coordinator by providing relevant information to ensure appropriate, timely and accurate data collection against agreed indicators to enable both internal and external project reporting.
• Provide technical cooperation to develop appropriate communication, information, and fundraising strategies to support and/or advocate for children
• Lead the development and implementation of advocacy strategies that will influence government authorities and key stakeholders of the humanitarian in order to achieve positive and lasting changes to fulfill children's rights.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
• Hold a bachelor's degree in social sciences, project management, Rural Development
• Five years of progressive experience in program design as responsible and project management related to child protection, human rights or related fields, including data collection and analysis.
• Planning and monitoring skills; ability to organize work and projects.
• Knowledge of children's rights, key international and regional conventions and charter on the rights of children.
• Experience in influencing government, donors, and other organizations through representation and/or advocacy.
• Experience in leading the creation and implementation of a strategy, demonstrating the ability to identify the necessary steps towards an ambitious goal.
• Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports
• Ability to analyze information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically
• Fluency in English and French
• High-level skills of Microsoft (Word, Excel, Powerpoint....), with enough ability to internet use, and various office applications
• Teamwork with Honest and transparent behavior
