Business Development Advisor – Accounting & Tax
Kigali, Rwanda

TERM: Full time, 1-year commitment, Renewable

LOCATION: Kimihurura, Kigali. Musanze, Northern Province

REPORTS TO: Director of SME Growth
Inkomoko seeks a highly talented and experienced Business

Development Associate to work directly with our entrepreneur clients. The Business Development Associate will join a growing start-up team with core responsibilities as follows:

  • Develop business strategies and comprehensive business plans
  • Generate financial statements, forecasts, and profitability analyses clients
  • Develop and implement accurate financial reporting and bookkeeping systems for clients
  • Assist clients with the implementation of business plan recommendations
  • Advise clients on financing and investment opportunities/challenges
  • Setup and train clients inaccurate financial record keeping
  • Setup and train clients inaccurate tax reporting and filing
  • Help clients prepare for financing or investment opportunities (loan and equity financing)
  • Provide expert advice; help clients to navigate challenges and make sound business decisions
  • Conduct assessments of client businesses to understand business needs, challenges, and opportunities
  • Conduct research on the industry, competitors, and customers
  • Manage client relationships and provide a single point of contact for assigned clients
  • Manage the schedule and delivery of services throughout client engagements
  • Regularly track and report on progress of client work and deliverables
  • Participate in the development of AEC goals, strategies, and planning
  • Assist Inkomoko/AEC management in special projects, training, and expansion initiatives
  • Represent Inkomoko in the local business community and at conferences or other events
  • Keep up to date on latest business and industry trends in Rwanda and across East Africa
  • Maintain and organize client files

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking individuals who can bring lasting impact to our work. We are looking for candidates who will navigate fast-paced and resource-constrained environments with enthusiasm, patience, a sense of humor, and imagination. The ideal candidate will fulfill the following requirements:

  • 5+ years of work experience in relevant or applicable field
  • Experience with one or more of the following accounting softwares: Quickbooks, Odoo, Sage, Tally, SAP
  • Experience in consulting, business planning, and providing business advice
  • Strong financial and accounting skills; strong understanding of Rwanda’s tax & financial policies
  • Experience as an accountant for a small or medium business
  • Experience with RRA and tax filing
  • Excellent computer skills, especially with MS Excel and Word
  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • Good presentation and training skills
  • Shows perseverance, personal integrity, and critical thinking skills
  • Must speak fluent English and Kinyarwanda; French is an added advantage
  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration/ Accounting or related field
  • Willingness to travel around the country from time to time, in line with the job needs
