Our mission to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. Save the Children implements both development and humanitarian assistance programs in Rwanda and Burundi.
Become the business owner of Kumwe Hub’s new Second-Generation Health Post:
General overview: Globally, Universal Health Coverage (UHC) has risen from 45% to 67% over the past two decades, reflecting a commitment to ensuring access to quality health services for all without financial hardship (SDG 3.8.1). In Rwanda, significant strides towards UHC have been made, with over 84% of Rwandans now covered by the "mutuelle de santé," a community-based health insurance scheme providing financial protection and equitable healthcare access.
To further advance UHC, the Rwandan government aims to establish a health post in every community, with 1,222 health posts already in place across 2,148 cells. By 2030, 90% of the population will have access to primary healthcare.
Kumwe Hub, part of Save the Children, supports this national goal by establishing a network of low-cost private health facilities.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Kamonyi District, Kumwe Hub aims to reduce distances to care, enhance service quality, improve maternal and child health outcomes, and alleviate the burden on public health services.
Partnering with Rhiza Babuyile, Kumwe Hub leverages a franchise model operated by trained nurse entrepreneurs, ensuring sustainable and accessible healthcare delivery for the Rwandan population.
Are you passionate about bringing affordable healthcare to Kamonyi? Enter this competition to partner with Kumwe Hub (part of Save the Children Rwanda) and become the owner of a for-profit second-generation health clinic in Kamonyi.
