Overview
The candidate will work closely with the Managing Director and the Project Lead for the Centre’s Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning platform. The candidate will also work very closely with counterparts in the Ministry of ICT and Innovation as well as other key representatives from relevant partners – public sector, private sector, and civil society.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Identifying regulatory, policy and governance gaps limiting the adoption and implementation of AI and other data-dependent technologies in key sectors
• Benchmarking progressive regulatory, policy and governance approaches for AI and other data-dependent technologies from around the world
• Co-designing frameworks to address the identified regulatory, policy and governance gaps
• Designing and overseeing pilots to test and improve these frameworks
• Identifying and managing stakeholder relationships that are crucial for the design and implementation of instruments
• Documentation of pilots and governance approaches
Qualifications
The Fellow should:
• Be a recent graduate of, or pursuing a master’s, JD or PhD in, technology policy or data governance or a related field;
• Have an understanding of legal and ethical complexities of technology applications in society; digital health expertise is a plus;
• Have practical experience working in or collaborating with the public and private sectors;
• Possess exceptional written and verbal communications skills and fluency in English
