JOB DETAILS:
Ubumwe Grande Hotel, a four-star facility would like to recruit competent and highly motivated staff for the position below: .
Job Responsibilities:
Draw up, on a daily basis, a cleaning plan for the hotel indicating task allocations for:
• Public area
• Washrooms
• Rooms
• Design a checklist for room service amenities and ensure any utility depleted is replenished on time
• Train housekeeping staff on cleaning and maintenance tasks
• Supervise staff on a daily basis
• Check rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas, for cleanliness
• Ensure that all hotel bed linen is washed and ironed and is always ready for use.
• Follow up to ensure all linen used for decoration, banqueting, and restaurant set up is always clean, ironed and ready for use
• Ensure that staff uniforms are washed, ironed and always ready for use
• Follow up to ensure that all aging linen is replaced in time.
• Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence
• Educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene standards
• Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job
• Respond to customer complaints and special requests
• Monitor and replenish cleaning products stock including floor cleaner, bleach, and rubber gloves
• Participate in large cleaning projects as required
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas

Job Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in hospitality, business administration, economics
• 4 years’ experience working as a Housekeeping Supervisor or in a similar role
• Fluency in English
• Knowledge of French is an added advantage
• Customer service training with a certificate is an advantage
• Computer Literate in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook
• Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations
• Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products
• Excellent organizational and team management skills
• Tenacity to handle the physical demands of the job
• Flexibility to work in various shifts, including evenings and weekends
